Life circumstances have thrust upon me the title of starving artist, something I've actually always strived for but had enough of a straight job that the average joe would never consider me starving. Since then I've repeatedly watched and soaked in the words of Alan Moore and actually shot more photos, did more art, worked out more, eaten better, slept better and been a better parent than when I had to chase down hours at the rehab. I really feel now that art can only be a hobby if you devote a large chunk of your time to moneymaking in a field that has nothing to do with art, has everything to do with getting by.
